Key Growth Concepts

Entering the Mission Field-"Blessed are the merciful:for they shall obtain mercy." Matthew 5:7

Those of us who have received mercy and grace through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior may consider the many diverse and challenging ways God gives us to show mercy and grace on the mission field. Visiting other peoples, races, cultures, and nationalities allows us to grow, to see things we might otherwise miss, to volunteer in a host of fruitful endeavors and to share our faith in lands we might otherwise never visit. The Lord reminds us of His purpose to proclaim the Gospel in the passage from Isaiah 52:7.........

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

The Apostle Paul echoed these words in Romans 10:15, speaking of the messengers who help to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations....," words which are just as important today as they were when Paul embarked on his first missionary journey to Cyprus, Perga, Pisidian Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe.

Recent outreaches to Egypt and Mexico remind us of the encouraging promise of Jesus that, Matthew 16:18 "I will build my church."Just as Philip preached to the Samaritans and spoke to an Ethiopian official, so too have we seen firsthand the tremendous opportunities to share our faith, encourage fellow believers and witness the power of the Holy Spirit in action.

In Acts 13:1-3, we read this wonderful and encouraging passage:

"In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon, called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them" so after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off."

If you sense the calling to go on an upcoming mission, seek the Lord in prayer, inquire of His plan for your life. You may support the mission team in prayer, through finances, or in the sharing of your talents and gifts in music, language, arts & crafts, men's or women's ministries, children's ministries, personal testimony, evangelism, community outreach or many other fields of opportunity.

The mission field reminds us of the perseverance of the Saints as told in Hebrews10 the working out of God's plan as revealed in Psalm 27, and the compassion of God as expressed to Jonah 4:11 "Should I not be concerned about that great city?" There are blessings which follow obedience, and we are deeply encouraged by what God has shown us.

We seek to :

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24 ESV

1  Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! 2  Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! 3  Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! 4  Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! 5  Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! 6  Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Psalm 150 NKJV

At Calvary Chapel we believe in the power of prayer.  We believe that we're able to find strength for trying times by being in fellowship with the Lord.  We believe that our Lord hears our prayers and desires to minister to us in whatever the situation may be.

Isaiah 56:7 tells us that the house of the Lord shall be a house of prayer.

James 5:14-16 tells us that if any is sick that he should seek out prayer and that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  As Christians we need to be willing to both seek out prayer when we are in the midst of our daily trials and troubles and to nurture a strong prayer life of our own to prepare us for the days to come.

We believe today's children are tomorrow's workers. Workers who will be sent into the fields of the world for a great and glorious harvest of souls into God's kingdom. Therefore, we are committed to a four-fold mission.

By the power of the Holy Spirit and in the Love of Jesus:

1. We are committed to praying for the children

“Praying constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people.
—Ephesians 1:16–19

2. We are committed to encouraging children into a personal, loving relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven..'”
—Matthew 19:14

3. We are committed to teaching children the Word of God

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it..”
—Proverbs 22:6

4. We are committed to teaching real life application of God's Word in the lives of children

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock..."

—Matthew 7:24

The Men's Ministry at Apache Junction Calvary Chapel exists to minister the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ to the men in our fellowship.

We come together every saturday morning at 7:00 P.M. to study the Word of God (verse by verse), and encourage one another in focused, spiritual fellowship. Come out and get involved as we seek to further the work of the Lord in our daily lives.

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
—Acts 2:42
