We have a number of projects in the works. The main project is the remodeling of our main building, which includes many smaller projects. We want to remove the existing paneling and acoustic tiles that now cover the walls in the building and replace it with drywall.  While we are doing that we will be upgrading the electrical service and wiring in the building to bring it to current code standards. We will also be insulating the walls, which has no insulation, just uninsulated block wall. That should make some difference in heating and cooling costs for us.

We have had the building tested for asbestos, and the good news is that the panelling and acoustic tiles are asbestos free. The bad news is that the drywall in Chris and my offices are not asbestos free. Asbestos is not a health hazard as long as it is left intact but during removal becomes so. Therefore we need to pay a company to come remove it for us costing us about $2500, but then we are asbestos free in the building.

We are also in the process of replacing the pews in the sanctuary with chairs. The cost of chairs is far cheaper than refinishing and reupholstering the existing pews. Chairs will also give us the ability to utilize the space in the sanctuary for multiple purposes. We would like to take a few of the pews and make a new pulpit and a communion table out of the wood.

Removing the pews means that we have to address the floor and we are not yet exactly sure what we will do with the floor as of yet.

We are continuing to work on exposing the glass block cross built into the North wall of the sanctuary. When lit up at night it is visible from Broadway and we desire to keep it that way. The plan is also to eliminate the red curtain at the back of the stage and expose the cross to the sanctuary. We have some plans in the works for finishing the wall and the area surrounding the cross.

Enough info for now. Please keep these things in prayer. God bless.

Welcome to Calvary Chapel. Our desire is to provide you with the tools to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus  and into a better understanding of who God is and what His desire is for your life.

We believe this is accomplished by teaching the full counsel of the Word of God, book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We also believe that in addition to personal Study, Prayer, Worship, and Servant-hood that the corporate practice of these are also beneficial to the growth of  the believer and are therefor encouraged.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
(Acts 2:42 ESV)

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
(Mark 9:35 ESV)

May you be filled with the Spirit and  blessed through the knowledge of the Father and His only begotten Son, Jesus!
